How long is recovery after cosmetic treatment in Korea?
Recovery involves several different stages: wound care, return to everyday activities, gradual settling of swelling and the final result. They do not happen at the same time. Use the following planning framework with your surgeon’s own written instructions; it is not clearance to fly or resume exercise.
Recovery after surgery
| Procedure | Wound or suture review | Early recovery | Longer-term settling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Double-eyelid surgery | Often around the first week; technique-dependent | Bruising and swelling improve gradually over weeks | Residual swelling and scars may settle over months |
| Rhinoplasty | The team sets the timing of splint and suture removal | Allow for swelling, nasal care and activity restrictions | Refinement can continue for many months or longer |
| Facial contouring | Arrange the surgeon’s scheduled wound reviews | Diet, swelling and activity restrictions vary by operation | Bone healing and soft-tissue settling take longer than the initial stay |
| Liposuction | — | Use compression only as instructed by the surgical team | Contour changes emerge as swelling subsides over months |
| Breast augmentation | Follow the team’s wound-review schedule | Return to work and lifting depend on the operation and recovery | Implants and scars settle gradually; ongoing follow-up is needed |
Recovery after non-surgical treatment
| Procedure | Early recovery | When to assess the result |
|---|---|---|
| Thread lifting | Expect possible swelling, bruising and tenderness | The clinician will advise when initial swelling has settled |
| Ultherapy or Thermage | Often limited social downtime, but redness, swelling or tenderness can occur | Changes may develop gradually; timing depends on the treatment |
| Skin boosters | Injection bumps, redness or bruising may last several days or longer | Review according to the product and treatment plan |
Recovery after dental treatment
| Procedure | Recovery considerations | Travel planning |
|---|---|---|
| Dental implants | Bone integration and restoration are staged over months | Plan repeat visits and local follow-up where appropriate |
| Dental veneers | Allow time for assessment, preparation, fitting and adjustment | Sensitivity or bite adjustments may require additional review |
Planning your stay:Do not use one fixed number of days for every operation. Obtain a schedule for the first examination, dressing or suture care and any later review before booking return travel. Ask the clinician when flying is appropriate and who will provide care at home. BeautsGo can help coordinate the itinerary around the medical team’s instructions, including a contingency for delayed recovery.
